What is SoarnoL
Soarnol™ is an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer developed by Mitsubishi Chemical's own technology. It has high gas barrier properties, oil resistance and high transparency derived from vinyl alcohol structure as well as moisture resistance and extrudability comes from ethylene unit. Additionally, Soarnol consists of carbon, oxygen and hydrogen so no harmful gases are generated when it is incinerated, and its combustion heat is half that of polyethylene.
Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Manager, you will support the business in all areas of Finance, provide information and advice, prepare all financial reports both internal and external whilst maintaining robust accounting systems and controls to ensure full financial compliance.
Duties include
Management & Business Priorities
- Lead the Finance Team ensuring appropriate development and continued motivation
- Monitor team and individual performance, workloads and identify potential improvements
- Present Financial results and position in monthly Business Review Meeting
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Develop, review and maintain financial policies
Reporting and analysis
- Monthly management accounts and variance analysis
- Quarterly profit forecasts
- MCUK reporting for monthly, quarterly, annual, forecast and budgets
- Monthly EU reports
- Deferred and current tax calculations for quarterly group reporting
- Annual Budget generation
- Information preparation and support to group as required
- Management of Capex Budget and Asset accounting
Business support
- Advise on VAT implications of various business transactions
- Provide adhoc reports, support and advice to internal and external stakeholders
Compliance
- Financial information to banks and day to day liaison
- Prepare VAT Returns for UK, NL & DE.
- Mange compliance of PAYE position for Expats
- Management of audit process – both internal & external
- Monitor and implement changes within EU on VAT / import / export requirements
- Oversee and manage the Inward Processing registration
- Monitor and report on cash flow including forecasting
- Manage FX requirements minimising risk to Soarnol whilst meeting liabilities
Systems & improvements
- Superuser of SAP S4 Hana system
- Management of SAP S4 Hana system upgrades and enhancements
- Assistance and training to other SAP S4 Hana users
- Drive improvements in the SAP system and work with the global SAP team to ensure these are implemented efficiently.
Qualifications
- Hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification ACA, CIMA or ACCA.
- Excellent communication skills to deal with people at all levels.
- Good IT skills especially Microsoft Excel and SAP.
- Several years experience of running a finance function including people management, accounts and report preparation and analysis, product costing, systems development, implementation and project management.
