What is SoarnoL

Soarnol™ is an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer developed by Mitsubishi Chemical's own technology. It has high gas barrier properties, oil resistance and high transparency derived from vinyl alcohol structure as well as moisture resistance and extrudability comes from ethylene unit. Additionally, Soarnol is consist of carbon, oxygen and hydrogen so no harmful gases is generated when incineration and its combustion heat is a half of polyethylene.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a hardworking individual to ensure installation & maintenance of Instrumented systems, including DCS/PLC control systems & plant-based equipment, working closely with site Instrument/Electrical & Mechanical teams to ensure safe and efficient implementation of asset maintenance requirements. This includes communicating and demonstrating commitment to best HSE practices and supporting the implementation of HSE practices within the engineering and production environment as a fully integrated management system.

Duties include

  1. Execute the responsibilities of Engineers/Technicians and all employees as outlined in the HSE responsibilities overarching document.
  2. Use computer-based maintenance management systems, such as Maximo, and support future system developments.
  3. Produce supporting method statements and risk assessments for asset management requirements.
  4. Undertake I/E troubleshooting role, supporting engineering to maintain plant reliability and operational availability.
  5. Support process plant shutdowns in terms of planning, scope development and execution.
  6. Undertake training as identified by the Instrument and Control Engineer necessary to maximise performance.
  7. Actively contribute to engineering team meetings.
  8. Provide call-out cover during periods of process plant operational interruptions.
  9. Carry out additional tasks as directed by the E&I Team Leader, and/or Mechanical Team Leader or Lead Maintenance Engineer.

 

 Qualifications

Work Related Experience

  • Good level of English and Maths
  • Technical education, such as a certificate, diploma, or degree in instrumentation engineering or a related field, is often preferred, but Minimum NVQ 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar supporting role within the petrochemical / chemical process industries, other candidates from top tier COMAH/heavy industry sites considered.
  • Have supported at least 1 major process plant shutdown.
  • Experience of working at the interface between employer and contract support personnel with ability to instruct methods required to ensure maintenance quality standards.
  • An awareness of SIL and Safety Instrumented Systems
  • Familiar with maintenance control / tracking software (Maximo, SAP etc.).
  • Knowledge of DCS systems and configuration.
  • Knowledge of instrument calibration & inspections
